What is "Windborne Music"?

Windborne Productions, Inc. has been in existence since 1990 beginning work in both Television and movies. Music being a large part of what our media division does, the founder of Windborne, Brent Havens, has been writing music for television, theatrical movies, music libraries and industrial productions since 1980. Our first live production of classic rock music with orchestra was in late 1995 — The Music of Led Zeppelin. After the initial response from that show we realized that this was something that had the potential to spread throughout the country. That is exactly what happened and 12 different shows later, Windborne personnel have traveled the world touring The Music of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, The Doors, Queen, Michael Jackson, The Who, U2, Whitney Houston, the Rolling Stones and Journey with orchestras great and small. Why are your contributors only performers and crew members from Windborne Music?

Since Windborne Music performs with orchestras our musicians and crew members have a unique understanding and perspective of what it takes to perform in nearly every type of situation. We will be adding guest contributors once in a while who will be able to give a slightly different perspective on live performance. But our main focus is on performing with an orchestra. Our contributors will also be talking and teaching about ALL aspects of performance and not just with an orchestra. But because of what we do we felt that subscribers could get a different perspective than simply playing in a band.

Why are the videos only 7-15 minutes rather than long lessons?

Here is our thinking on the length of the videos. We know that people are really busy in today’s world and having a short video that delves into a single subject allows the viewer to absorb the information quickly without having to spend great lengths of time in front of their computer screen. It also allows the viewer to take some time to try out the things that were discussed in the videos. We welcome feedback on the videos and the site in general, so if you have comments or suggestions we are open to hear them. Use the Contact Us page in the About menu to drop us a note.
